Project type: Illustration & Typography
Objective: Design a cookbook on the topic of your choice.
Solution: This was a group project, and we decided to make our cookbook a dark parody of Richard Scarry's books. (Hence the "author's" name being changed to Scary Richard.) We flipped the practice of animal slaughter into plant "slaughter", and each recipe is a plant-based version of a recipe that typically uses animal products.
My main role in this project was illustrating the book. Each illustration was hand drawn in ink, then scanned and coloured in Clip Studio Paint. All the animal characters were borrowed from actual Richard Scarry books, and I tried to emulate his gouache painting style digitally.
